Fun facts to share – and to learn!New author Jonny Katz pops on to the scene with a remedy for the social media overload of faux info and superfluous ‘news,’ and replaces that growing tedium with a fun book of interesting facts that plead delivery in a group of gathered friends – or family. The material is delivered in a lighthearted manner, in large typeface for those without reading glasses, and while the facts are terrific for entertaining, the information is also solidly informative. For starters, Jonny shares a plethora of facts about Benjamin Franklin: as a politician, skilled writer, scientist, inventor, diplomat, Founding Father of the United States, and avid swimmer he invented swim fins, nicknamed the first volunteer fire company the Union Fire Company as the Bucket Brigade, invented the lightning rod, bifocals, the Franklin stove, the rocking chair, the flexible urinary catheter, the glass harmonica, the odometer, was an abolitionist – and more and more! With that degree of learned facts, the categories include Jobs animals do, ‘Did you know,’ Facts about movies (words and phrases origins, what was the first Pixar movie, who played what, etc), Brand names that have become words (Kleenex, Band-Aid, Ziploc, “Taser’ = Tom A. Swift Electric Rifle, aspirin, etc), Brands and their slogans (Wendy’s: Where’s the Beef?, Wheaties: Breakfast of Champions – for the noted American athletes on the box, etc), Eponyms that inspired common words (fallopian tubes, chauvinist, Fahrenheit, mentor, etc – each with bizarre origins!), Famous military failures, Animal facts, Food and Drink, weird historical facts, Funny facts (‘Dolly Parton once entered a Dolly Parton lookalike contest…and lost,’ ‘you can’t sneeze in your sleep’ etc) , Science facts, Spies spying and secret messages, – the list is endless! This compendium of facts ranges from strange obsolete knowledge to utterly learned information presented with some fine illustrations, fine writing, and endless entertainment. A terrific supply of standup musings to share, but also a great book to keep by the bedside for a quiet personal evening escape from the IT inundation of the day! Very highly recommended. Great read- Fun conversation starter- Great to have on a car ride!Jonny Katz has compiled an amusing and sometinmes amazing book of curious, odd and intriguing book of facts and unknown “behind the scenes” stories of everyday life. Katz gives you deatils about the vaguely known or forgotten tidbits such as how Toll House cookies came to be, to details about the most absurd war victory (and loss) you will ever read about.Sections are titled so that if you, like I was, are compelled to walk around after someone reading aloud to them you can focus on sections of particular interest. The images are amusing particularly the penultimate photo. You will have to get the book to see what it is!

FUN, FASCINATING FACTS…This is a fun, fascinating, fact book for those who are insatiably curious. The facts run the gamut from movies, animals, history, music, royalty, science, and many other interesting categories. The book is laced with photos and humor, suitable for both teens and adults. It is also a large print book, which makes for easy reading. This book makes a nice gift for that special, insatiably curious person in one’s life. Father’s Day is just around the corner, and Christmas is just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road, if one is looking for a fun stocking stuffer. Of course, birthdays come all year long. This is a gift that keeps on giving.

A MOST ENJOYABLE READ!This most interesting book is filled with information you probably never heard before about people, places and times that will surprise you and – in some cases – leave you laughing. The wide range of subjects covers everything from animals to science, people from every walk of life, and even things you never knew about the military, inventions and discoveries, products you’ve probably used, and yes – quotes from Yogi Berra that will definitely make you smile. This book triggered a lot of memories for me and left me feeling rather nostalgic in a pleasant sort of way. Definitely an enjoyable read, whether for a quick pick-me-up or a relaxing afternoon.

What a fascinating book! This is an interesting book. Not one that you can read straight through like a novel. It’s fun to pick up and read for 5 or 10 minutes that you’ll find yourself engrossed in the topics that are revealed. There are things you never thought about that you will learn about. Highly recommended.

A Great Book To Get Stuck IntoThis is a very entertaining book about some of the amazing things and products we take for granted, without knowing how they got there or why. In the beginning, it’s all about Benjamin Franklin and if all of your knowledge about Ben rests with the fact that a $100 is nicknamed a Benjamin after the great man then you are in for a treat as there is a ton of information about him.My favorite part of the book is the “At the movies Q&A”. This is great fun and these movie questions and answers could be used for quiz nights or even entertaining the family with your newfound knowledge. This book is a lot of fun, it’s written in a lighthearted manner and will keep you entertained with gems such as “the brand names that have become words, we use every day” and “did you know that vending machines kill 4 times as many people as sharks per year”? You will not be disappointed, it’s a great book full of fun.

Accurately Named Book! While reading this book, I found myself often repeating its title, wow… “now, that’s interesting!” The book is filled with numerous tidbits of information that would make for the perfect anecdotes at social events. I also liked that the topics included in depth details in addition to the catchy soundbites that most trivia books tend to utilize. Overall, I’m very pleased with this book.
